Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Below is a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ). If you have a question that is not answered below, then please go through the "Contact Us" section and we will gladly get back to you.
Are the Casting Directors really the people responsible for deciding who gets a part on TV shows and movies?
Yes. Casting Directors are part of a team along with the producers and network executives that decide who gets cast. Read about TCW's featured casting directors on the official Hollywood credits site, www.IMDB.com
If I attend the workshop, is there a guarantee I will be on any shows in Hollywood?
TCW is designed to be an educational experience only. Attending a workshop is a wonderful opportunity to meet a Hollywood casting director. TCW's premium workshops are intended to build your confidence, knowledge, and skills giving you the tools you need to be successful in this highly competitive industry. You are guaranteed to receive ONE-on-ONE time with all of TCW's featured casting directors in the workshop.
If I paid for the workshop, does that consist of ONE session?
YES. Payment is for ONE workshop.
If I'm a parent of a child enrolled in a workshop and want to watch....is that ok?
No. The Casting Director will talk to everyone in the beginning and answer your questions. Parents will leave the workshop while the kids and the Casting Director work together. We have done many workshops and I think we are all in agreement..... kids perform better without their parents watching.
Can I get a refund if something comes up and we can't make it after we have paid?
NO REFUNDS. Our casting directors are taking time away from their busy schedules to conduct these workshops. It is strongly recommended to know for sure you are going to attend. This is a once in a lifetime event. However, in the event you cannot make it, you can
find someone to take your place upon the approval of TCW (and ultimately the casting director.)
Do I really need a professional 8x10 headshot and resume to give to the casting director?
No. We do NOT require a 8x10 photo for you to be in the workshop. It is up to you and optional. It is best to come across as professional as possible and consider the 8x10 as a calling card for the Casting Director to remember you for when they go back to LA. Please bring a quality 8x10 headshot that looks like you. All actors in LA use 8x10 headshots. Color is preferred by most Casting Directors. Also, don't forget resume and contact info on the back.
What should I wear?
Wear anything that you feel comfortable and confident in. Solid colors work best. We don't recommend black or white tops. Don't let anything be too distracting....let your "talent" stand out -- not flashy clothes. Watch what they wear in the shows!
May I put this on my resume?
Yes, Absolutely! This is a great credit to have on the resume under "training."
Is this a paid audition?
No! This is a workshop designed for educational purposes only.
